Cutting down trees is easy when the right tools are used but very difficult when you do not know or use the wrong tools.

There are 3 tools that are necessary when cutting down trees. These tools vary in application. This means you should assess the need first before selecting the tool to be used. This selection will largely be based on the size of the tree and the purpose why you cutting the tree.

For example, it will not be wise to cut a big tree using an ax. It will also not be wise to use a hired chainsaw to cut a very small tree that even an ax can cut.

If there is a need for special purposes like to produce construction beams and timber, tools that provide for smooth edges and surfaces should be used.

Below is a list of 3 tools that are necessary when cutting down trees:

1. Cross-cut saws.
These are manual saws which are operated by two people. Each end of the saw has a handle.

In order to effectively use the saw, the saw is held at an angle of 45 degrees with the two operators standing on both sides of the tree.

Depending on the diameter of the tree, a corresponding cross-cut saw size can be chosen because the saws come in different sizes to cater for different tree sizes.

2 Ax.
This can be single sided or double sided. Axes have been used for tree cutting since back in time. Their easy to use nature makes them an easy choice when cutting trees. Some types like the pick ax are best suited when prying tree roots from the ground.

3. Chainsaws.
These are the most powerful tree cutting tools. For them to operate, they use either fuel or electricity. They are the most dangerous tools to be used and precaution should be taken when operating them.

Final thoughts.
Tree cutting tools vary depending on their intended use. The list above gives the basic tools that can be used when you want cut trees on your own. Whether, when you are comfortable with any of the above or any other tools, seek help from professionals to avoid injuring yourself, others, and property.
